Countdown to Knitmas: Day 2

Woooohoooo! The holiday season is in full swing. I start counting the season's joy back during the week of Halloween and rise that wave on through the end of the year.

Our Holiday Party is this Saturday! The party starts at noon and rages on until closing.

We potluck and we food drive and we ornament exchange and we yarn away.

From our website:
"As for the FoodShare drive, we are asking you to make a minimum donation of $5 and you will receive 10% off your purchases (up to a maximum of $25 off) for the day. Anacapa Fine Yarns will match all monetary donations made to FoodShare for the day. You can also still bring canned goods instead of $$ (or in addition to $$). Bring a minimum of four canned goods for the above discount. For every $1 FoodShare receives, they are able to buy $7 worth of groceries to provide to needy families.

This is a Pot Luck too, so feel free to bring a dish to share.

If you would like to participate in our Handmade Holiday Ornament Exchange, bring a gift wrapped ornament to share in the exchange. These don't have to be just knitted or crocheted, let your other talents show through. Last year we saw ornaments of many different crafts."

I love every bit of it, especially the ornament exchange. I love seeing all of the beautiful and festive items as they are chosen and unveiled. Each piece is delightful.
Here is a sampling from two years ago -

I spend the year looking online, especially on pinterest.com, for ideas.
Here are two of my ornament boards -
1. Ornamental Fun
2. Ornament Exchange

A very popular pattern on Ravelry.com is for these adorable, classic ornaments by MillaMia Sweden.

This one is my contribution from last year, also from Ravelry -

Happy Needling,
Anne
